I started to write this blog in French because, although I am Chilean, I live in France and it was easier for me. However, from now on I am going to try to write regularly in English just for you. In the future, you will be able to read summaries of some of my stories, I will share my favorite places, tales of my Chilean-Scottish family, you will learn about France, about Chile where I grew up (under the section “About” which has been translated into English), notes about my travels for the National Geographic Magazine and the Association Chirurgie Plus founded by my husband who is a plastic surgeon. You will also read stories about people who have interested and inspired me all over the world. Please do not hesitate to click on the links in the stories that I have already written. The stories may be in French but most of the websites are in English and many of them are American. They are all worth visiting! I will also be talking about my books and my projects. The section “Books” in this blog has already been translated, as has my website www.franciscamatteoli.com and the section about my husband’s humanitarian association on his website www.docteurmatteoli.com.
This blog is also a way of sharing addresses of places I like, whether they are grand or not, but which always have a certain elegance, a charm and/or an originality that makes them special.
Because I travel as I please, where I please without strings or obligations to anyone and as no-one sponsors my trips, when I talk about a place, it is simply because I really like it. This blog is above all a space of freedom, as all journeys should be. With our multiple nationalities, members of my family have always enjoyed mixing types and styles and I have discovered this is passionately interesting to do in our life.
What else? I have nearly finished my seventh book to be published next March in France and in the United States. A book about nature and ecology – a theme that I am particularly keen on – including my choice of 25 most beautiful places in the world. I also write articles and I am working on other books.
Last but not least, please do not hesitate to contact me via my website if you are interested in my work, and do give me your feedback!
I love your stylish blog ! So chic xx Mandy
I came over from Janelle`s blog, and I see it was worth it. Hablas también espanol? (sorry, no enye). I enjoy both your French and English posts, and I really think your mixed heritage must be great – a mixing of cultures is always the best! I have some acquaintances in Edinburgh, one Scottish, one Polish, one German. I guess it is a splendid place to be!
Cheers from Northern Germany!
Appreciated the share!
Hellen
