Vous vous demandez peut-être pourquoi cette photo ? Tout simplement parce que ce mois-ci, l’Association Chirurgie Plus reçoit deux fantastiques sœurs jumelles de Madagascar – l’une anesthésiste, l’autre chirurgien thoracique – venues améliorer leurs connaissances, grâce à l’association, chacune dans leur domaine. Elles étaient avec nous dimanche dernier, à l’après-midi que nous avons organisé pour récolter des fonds et donner des nouvelles – après-midi qui a été une vraie réussite, avec toutes sortes de jeux et de gâteaux pour les enfants, des cocktails et une fantastique tombola pour les parents… J’en profite d’ailleurs pour remercier encore une fois du fond du cœur nos TRÈS, TRÈS, généreux donateurs et aussi tous ceux qui nous ont soutenus, d’une manière ou d’une autre.
Bertrand a fait un speech, les invités sont restés tard, c’était drôle, gai, émouvant. Épuisant aussi, mais nous avons reçus plus de 200 personnes et avons doublé les gains récoltés la dernière fois (plus de 4 heures debout, il faut de très bonnes chaussures, surtout si les talons sont hauts, c’est le grand secret !). Maintenant, l’association offre une formation à des chirurgiens du monde entier, d’Irak à Haïti, qui une fois rentrés chez eux, ouvrent des services hospitaliers performants et forment d’autres chirurgiens. Toutes les spécialités chirurgicales sont concernées, infantile, cardiaque, thoracique, etc… C’est pour ça que le sous-titre de l’association est « La Chirurgie en partage ».
Autre nouvelle, l’Association est maintenant sur Facebook. Inscrivez-vous. Nous aurons beaucoup de surprises, et pas seulement chirurgicales, tout au long de l’année.

Paris – Around the world in 4 hours
You are probably wondering what the reason for this photo is? It is simply because the Association Chirugie Plus welcomed two fantastic twin sisters this month from Magagascar – one is an anaesthetist, the other a thoracic surgeon. The Association enabled them to come and gain invaluable experience, each in her own field. They were with us at the afternoon event we organized last Sunday to raise funds and give the latest news. The afternoon was a great success, with all kinds of games and goodies for the children, cocktails and a fantastic tombola for the grown-ups… I take this opportunity, by the way, to thank again from the bottom of my heart our VERY, VERY generous donors and also all those who support us in one way and another.
Bertrand gave a speech, the guests stayed till late, it was amusing, joyful and moving. Pretty exhausting too, but we had over 200 guests and doubled the amount reached in 2013 (standing for 4 hours, the secret is to have very good shoes, especially if you have very high heels!). The Association is now able to offer training to surgeons from all over the world, from Irak to Haiti. When these surgeons return to their own countries, they are able to set up well organized hospital services and teach other surgeons. All branches of surgery are covered; pediatric, cardiovascular, thoracic, etc. That is why the subtitle of the Association is « Sharing Surgery ».
